I am A Pessimist and I will NEVER deny this.......Flooped my
2nd interview (HR executive for Recuit Express). It's a sudden interview which I only informed 6 hrs before scheduled time...(Referal from a friend) Not prepared, plus still nursing an sore, infected right eye, I was rather distress... Did some basic practice infront of mirror, look through ssome basic interview qns, prepared my outfit, I actually found my looks v disturbing, the
nerdy AH SOH look in specs, in addition to unsymmetrical eye size! Was v despaired and upset about this and then thought of this innovative idea which made me so impressed with myself... Guess what? I wore contact lens for my gd eye only! Haha, for that, i have to pat myself on my head (though I still look pretty bad with an sore, teary swollen eye). Encounter a sarcastic yet friendly middle-aged manager, some test showed me as a pessimist. He kept Suan-ing me for my lousy GP grade, english and for being a pessimist. I did have a "brilliant" answer for his qns on why i'm a pessimist...
" Because I'm not an optimist, so if I dun end up at this end, I ended up at the other end."
And he is surprised by my crappy ans, with: ... What an answer...what an answer...Come on, I was pretty pissed off with him, plus i'm in NOT-IN-CLEAR-MIND state, and these get the better of me.... When i think about this now and then, I feel like giving myself a tight slap. How could I be "so good" to come up with such an lame, crappy ans? Ha, This is really a "golden line" man. I'm a pessimist in nature, nothing is going to change that (except a rich prince on white horse drop by and make me a Cinderalla maybe?) Well, I didn't feel too bad for this failure, maybe cos i didn't expect a success ( remember tt i'm a pessimist...). Guess what make me upset is that i never get his offer so that i can reject him and give him a smug smile. Ya, I'm sure that he was right, I was v bad with my english, and i speak broken english, but hey, what's this gotta do with being in HR? The office is a chinese speaking female environment, and I can read and understand English, Hr does not need to write essay right?! (my friend also failed her GP, but she did not show her certs and tanscripts during interview BUT I offered mine... ARGG...) So another experience gained: Not to act smart and be so lame for interviews. Anyway, I finally willing to go to eye clinic to check up my sore eye (Right, after 6 torturous days). And I'm THAT unlucky to run into an sarcastic doctor "again"... The first sentence he said to me after i told him that i suspected a contact lens infection is: " You know there are many people that get blind due to contact lens...The girl next door developed eye ulcers and is going blind." How could he said these? I was v worried as a patient already, and he had to rub it in. He as a pro-anti-contact-lens-eyedoc is the best explaination I can offer myself, unless i'm taking his advice that I have sensitive eyes that are not suitable to be an contact lens wearer... But I have been on contact lens for 5 yrs?!!! Well, I am v certain that I couldn't survive without contact lens for the rest of my life for sure... What i can do is follow his instruction to refrain form contact lens for another month, then try not to wear whenever it's possible... But will I go blind for this? Or he is just trying to scare me just treating me like a 6 yr old kid? Let's see about tt 1 mth later bah.....
